In the sci-fi film “Everything Everywhere All At Once,” Mei, a modestly retired janitor, is the main character. One day, she finds herself unexpectedly forced to travel through several realms and parallel universes in order to save her daughter’s life. Mei encounters a variety of interesting and unusual people along the road, some of them are alternate realities versions of her. As the plot develops, Mei learns that she is uniquely connected to a potent force that controls the multiverse as a whole and that she might be the only one capable of averting a threat that could wipe out everything. The film is directed by two upcoming directors and combines passion, humor, and action. It has received a lot of positive reviews from critics and most recently took home the top prize at the DGA Awards. The DGAs have been around for 75 years and are considered very prestigious within the film industry, as they are awarded by top directors, even though the ceremony is not televised. Two relatively unknown young filmmakers’ quirky indie sci-fi movie, “Everything Everywhere All At Once,” took the top honors from Hollywood’s directors on Saturday, overshadowing more famous competitors and positioning itself as a potential contender for next month’s Oscars. Kwan and Scheinert won the award for the first time and were nominated for the first time, in a category dominated by male directors. The other nominees for best director included three individuals who were also nominated for the Academy Awards: Todd Field for “Tar,” Martin McDonagh for “The Banshees Of Inisherin,” and Steven Spielberg, a 13-time nominee and three-time winner of the DGA award, for “The Fablemans.” In the last 74 years, the majority of DGA feature directing award winners have also won the best director Oscar, with only eight exceptions. Last year, Jane Campion won both the DGA award for “The Power Of The Dog” and the best director Oscar, and in 2021, Chloe Zhao won both awards for “Nomadland.” At the DGA Awards ceremony in Beverly Hills, Scottish filmmaker Charlotte Wells received the Guild’s award for a first-time feature for “Aftersun,” which was financed by BBC Film, BFI, and Screen Scotland in association with Tango. Among the five nominees for first-time directing, four were women. Sara Dosa won the DGA Award for documentary directing for her film “Fire of Love.” Four of the five films nominated in the documentary category, which included “Fire of Love,” “All That Breathes,” “All The Beauty And The Bloodshed,” and “Navalny,” have also received nominations for the documentary feature Oscar. During the DGA Awards ceremony, Sam Levinson received the award for directing a drama series for his work on the “Stand Still Like The Hummingbird” episode of “Euphoria.” At the same time, Helen Shaver won the award for television movie or limited series direction for her work on the “Who’s There” episode of “Station Eleven.” The ceremony also included the presentation of three special awards: Robert Fishman received the DGA’s Lifetime Achievement Award in television, Mark Hansson was awarded the Frank Capra Achievement Award for assistant directing or unit production manager, and Valdez Flagg received the Franklin J Schaffner Achievement Award for associate directing or stage management. <p>The post The directing duo behind ‘Everything Everywhere All At Once’ have won the highest directing award in Hollywood. first appeared on All TV Actors.</p> Via https://alltvactors.com/the-directing-duo-behind-everything-everywhere-all-at-once-have-won-the-highest-directing-award-in-hollywood/

After retiring from his career due to aphasia Bruce Willis has been diagnosed with dementia.2/17/2023 Following the announcement made by Bruce Willis’ family in March 2022 that the 67-year-old actor was retiring from acting due to his diagnosis of aphasia, his condition has since developed into frontotemporal dementia. Frontotemporal dementia, which is frequently identified at a younger age than other types of dementia, can manifest as alterations in personality, difficulty with speech, and motor dysfunction. This type of dementia is responsible for 10% to 20% of all dementia diagnoses, as reported by the Mayo Clinic. Bruce Willis embarked on his acting career in the early 1980s, appearing in movies such as “The Verdict,” “Blind Date,” and “Sunset.” His career reached new heights in 1985 with his leading role alongside Cybill Shepherd in the ABC show “Moonlighting,” as well as his remarkable performance as the action hero John McClane in the 1988 film “Die Hard.” Over the years, Willis starred in four subsequent “Die Hard” movies, as well as memorable roles in other acclaimed films like “Pulp Fiction,” “12 Monkeys,” “The Fifth Element,” “The Sixth Sense,” and “Armageddon.” Throughout his 40-year acting career, Bruce Willis’ films have earned over $5 billion in global box office revenue. He has been nominated for five Golden Globes, winning one for his role in “Moonlighting,” and three Emmy Awards, winning one for “Moonlighting” and another for his guest appearance on “Friends.” In recent years, he has mostly appeared in direct-to-video movies, with his last major film role being in 2019’s “Motherless Brooklyn” and M. Night Shyamalan’s “Glass.” On Instagram, Rumer Willis announced the news and posted a picture of her father. Read the Willis family’s full statement below. As a family, we wanted to take this opportunity to thank you all for the outpouring of love and compassion for Bruce over the past ten months. Your generosity of spirit has been overwhelming, and we are tremendously grateful for it. For your kindness, and because we know you love Bruce as much as we do, we wanted to give you an update. Since we announced Bruce’s diagnosis of aphasia in the spring of 2022, Bruce’s condition has progressed and we now have a more specific diagnosis: frontotemporal dementia (known as FTD). Unfortunately, challenges with communication are just one symptom of the disease Bruce faces. While this is painful, it is a relief to finally have a clear diagnosis. FTD is a cruel disease that many of us have never heard of and can strike anyone. For people under 60, FTD is the most common form of dementia, and because getting the diagnosis can take years, FTD is likely much more prevalent than we know. Today there are no treatments for the disease, a reality that we hope can change in the years ahead. As Bruce’s condition advances, we hope that any media attention can be focused on shining a light on this disease that needs far more awareness and research. Bruce always believed in using his voice in the world to help others and to raise awareness about important issues both publicly and privately. We know in our hearts that – if he could today — he would want to respond by bringing global attention and a connectedness with those who are also dealing with this debilitating disease and how it impacts so many individuals and their families. Ours is just one family with a loved one who suffers from FTD, and we encourage others facing it to seek out the wealth of information and support available through AFTD (@theaftd, theaftd.org). And for those of you who have been fortunate enough to not have any personal experience with FTD, we hope that you will take the time to learn about it, and support AFTD’s mission in whatever way you can. Bruce has always found joy in life – and has helped everyone he knows to do the same. It has meant the world to see that sense of care echoed back to him and to all of us. We have been so moved by the love you have all shared for our dear husband, father, and friend during this difficult time. Your continued compassion, understanding, and respect will enable us to help Bruce live as full a life as possible.

However, Hiccup is different from his fellow Vikings in that he is not interested in fighting and instead wants to understand and befriend dragons. One day, Hiccup comes across a rare and elusive dragon called a Night Fury, and he manages to injure it. However, instead of killing the dragon as his people would expect him to do, Hiccup decides to help the dragon and earns its trust. Together, they embark on a journey of discovery and understanding, as Hiccup learns about dragons and his own potential. As Hiccup’s friendship with the Night Fury grows, he begins to challenge his people’s beliefs about dragons and tries to show them that they are not the vicious beasts they have always believed them to be. However, his efforts are met with resistance, and he must find a way to convince his people to change their ways before it’s too late. “How to Train Your Dragon” is a heartwarming and entertaining movie that teaches important lessons about friendship, acceptance, and the power of individuality. Dean DeBlois, the writer and director of the Academy Award-nominated trilogy – “How to Train Your Dragon” from 2010, “How to Train Your Dragon 2” from 2014, and “How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World” from 2019 – will be the one entrusted with the film. His involvement guarantees the movie will be in capable hands, and his past works were recognized by the Academy with Best Animated Feature nominations. “How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World” brought a satisfying conclusion to the series. Based on Cressida Cowell’s books, the series made over $1.6 billion globally for Universal and DreamWorks and resulted in the creation of three TV shows – DreamWorks Dragons, Rescue Riders, and The Nine Realms. In addition, the franchise also inspired theme park attractions and a live family performance called How to Train Your Dragon on Ice. DeBlois, who has previously collaborated with Disney on successful projects such as Lilo & Stitch and Mulan, is now working on the live-action adaptation of Lilo & Stitch, which is currently in pre-production. Meanwhile, the production team for the live-action version of How to Train Your Dragon includes three-time Oscar® nominee Marc Platt (known for his work on La La Land and Bridge of Spies), DeBlois himself, and Emmy award winner Adam Siegel (who has worked on 2 Guns and Drive). The main cast of the original trilogy included Jay Baruchel, America Ferrera, Gerard Butler, Craig Ferguson, Jonah Hill, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, and Kristen Wiig. Here is the current information available on the topic. The trailer for The Flash movie has sparked a debate over the possible appearance of Christian Bale’s Batman in the film, which is adopting a multiverse approach for its storyline. This comes as DC Studios co-CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran plan to reboot the franchise, with The Flash serving as a reset point for the overall status quo. While the movie features Ezra Miller’s Barry Allen and other existing DC heroes from recent films, such as Ben Affleck’s Batman, the multiverse plot also allows for additional versions of the Dark Knight to make an appearance. It’s been confirmed that Michael Keaton will reprise his role as Batman in The Flash, but the extent of his involvement in Barry Allen’s multiverse journey hasn’t been fully revealed yet. However, the recently released trailer hints that Keaton’s Batman will play a crucial part in helping the two versions of Barry Allen to rescue Supergirl from a meta-human prison. Ben Affleck’s Batman will also feature in the film, likely before the timeline becomes disrupted. There has been speculation that other actors, such as Christian Bale’s Batman, could make a comeback through the multiverse concept. Despite no official confirmation, there has been renewed speculation that Christian Bale may appear as Batman in The Flash movie following the release of the trailer. The multiverse concept is established in the trailer, which shows Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton portraying different versions of Batman. However, a quick shot of Batman riding a Batcycle in the trailer has generated excitement that Christian Bale could be the actor behind the mask in this scene. All signs point to the fact that Christian Bale will not be reprising his role as Batman in The Flash movie. Other shots from the trailer suggest that it is Ben Affleck’s portrayal of the character, while set photos and videos also support this notion. There have been no reliable reports of Bale’s participation, unlike rumors of his planned appearances in previously scrapped Justice League projects. The inclusion of multiple versions of Batman in The Flash, the resemblance between the Bat-themed motorcycles, and Affleck’s leaner build that resembles Bale’s could understandably cause confusion. “Reasons Why Christian Bale’s Batman Should Appear in The Flash Movie”Although it is currently uncertain whether Christian Bale will appear in The Flash movie, there are compelling reasons why he should be included. The Flashpoint adaptation offers a chance to explore the multiverse, enabling past actors who might otherwise never return to reprise their roles. Bale has previously stated that he would only consider playing Batman again in a Christopher Nolan-directed film. However, since The Flash movie would only involve a cameo appearance, he might be open to the idea. This could also present an opportunity to connect the various Batman iterations by Tim Burton, Christopher Nolan, and Zack Snyder in the DC Universe. Given the potential soft reboot of the DC Universe under James Gunn, The Flash movie could be the final opportunity for Christian Bale to reprise his role as Batman. With plans to recast the character for The Brave and the Bold, the chances of Bale returning for The Dark Knight 4 or any other project appear slim. As The Flash features a character who can travel between timelines and universes, including Bale in the movie would generate additional excitement and make narrative sense.

A crucial aspect of Phase 4 has been the introduction of new, younger heroes to take over significant roles. This includes Hailee Steinfeld as Kate Bishop in Hawkeye, Sam Wilson as the new Captain America in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and Shuri in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. However, with the upcoming film Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania, fans are concerned that Kathryn Newton’s portrayal of Cassie Lang may mark the end of Paul Rudd’s stint as the beloved, size-altering hero. Paul Rudd as Ant-Man is a character who embodies both the superhuman abilities of the superhero Ant-Man, as well as the everyday emotions and struggles of a regular person. In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Rudd’s portrayal of Ant-Man showcases his witty humor, relatable charm, and down-to-earth personality that makes the audience root for him. Despite his small stature, Rudd’s Ant-Man possesses immense courage and a big heart, as he fights to protect the people he loves and save the world. At the same time, Rudd’s Ant-Man is not immune to the challenges that real people face, such as balancing work, family, and personal responsibilities. Throughout the films, we see Ant-Man struggling with feelings of inadequacy, guilt, and the weight of the expectations placed upon him. These moments of vulnerability make the character more human and relatable and help to bring a sense of heart to the action-packed world of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Paul Rudd’s portrayal of Ant-Man as a character with both superhuman abilities and human emotions helps to bring depth and nuance to the role and makes him one of the most beloved heroes in the MCU. The Next Era of Ant-ManIn a conversation with Inverse, Stephen Broussard, a creative executive at Marvel Studios, spoke about the future of Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man character. Broussard stated that there are no plans for a Young Avengers project, but confirmed that a significant part of Phase 4 is focused on introducing new heroes. He emphasized that this idea is particularly relevant to the Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania film, pointing out that Cassie Lang is “essentially the new Ant-Man.” “I think it’s very germane to the ‘Ant-Man’ film because it’s a generational film… the Ant-Man mantle gets passed down from Hank to Scott and now essentially to Cassie, who’s almost more of like the new Ant-Man, even though she doesn’t go by such, more so than the new Wasp.” Related ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’ First Reactions Who Might Step Into Ant-Man’s Shoes? It is widely believed that Quantumania is paving the way for Kathryn Newton’s Cassie to take over as Ant-Man, but this is not how it works in the comics. In the source material, Cassie never becomes Ant-Man, instead creating her own identity as the hero Stinger or Stature. In the MCU, it would be much easier for her to be seen as a replacement for Ant-Man. Fans are hopeful that Paul Rudd, who has expressed his desire to continue playing Scott Lang, will have a significant role in the future of the MCU, especially in the upcoming Multiverse Saga. Ideally, Rudd will continue to bring life to the character for years to come, and it would be fantastic to see him interact with the mutants that are set to join the MCU in the future. Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania will be released in theaters on February 17.

The Mandalorian is a science fiction/action-adventure television series in the Star Wars universe. It follows the story of a bounty hunter, known simply as “The Mandalorian,” as he travels the galaxy, taking on dangerous missions and facing new challenges. The series is set after the fall of the Galactic Empire and before the rise of the First Order, creating a unique and rich backdrop for the show’s characters and storylines. The Mandalorian is known for its striking visual style, blending practical special effects with cutting-edge CGI to create a fully realized and immersive world. Alongside its action and adventure, the series also explores family, identity, and morality themes, creating a complex and captivating narrative that has drawn in fans from all over the world. With a talented cast of actors, including Pedro Pascal as the titular character, and a passionate and dedicated crew behind the scenes, The Mandalorian has become one of the most highly-acclaimed and popular television shows of recent years. The marketing for the third season of The Mandalorian showcases Pedro Pascal’s character, Din Djarin, without his mask, suggesting that the Star Wars Disney+ show may depict him choosing not to wear his helmet. This is a departure from the series’ tradition as Din, the main character, was raised in a Mandalorian culture where members are not allowed to remove their helmets in front of others. The Book of Boba Fett saw Din grappling with his sense of identity and seeking redemption after taking off his helmet on a mission to rescue his ward, Grogu, from the Empire. The trailer for The Mandalorian season 3 implies that Din will continue his journey of self-discovery, traveling to the Mandalorian homeworld in search of answers. This move to potentially unmask Din adds a new level of emotional depth to the series, as the audience will now get to see the character’s expressions and reactions, bringing his inner conflicts to the forefront. Mando Unmasked Ahead of Season 3Empire magazine’s latest cover, shared by The Hollywood Handle, provides a sneak peek at Pedro Pascal’s character, Din Djarin, without his Mandalorian helmet on. It’s noteworthy that Pascal is holding the Darksaber, which gives him the authority to rule over Mandalore. Paradoxically, Mandalore is where Din and Grogu are headed so that Din can make amends for removing his helmet and reintegrate with his Mandalorian community. Will The Mandalorian Pedro Pascal’s Character be Unmasked Again in Season 3?Din Djarin, played by Pedro Pascal, has only uncovered his face a few times in The Mandalorian. He first removed his helmet in season 1 and then again in season 2. With the new promotional image featuring Pascal’s face, it appears to suggest that we might see Din take off his helmet once more. This could mean that we will see Pascal’s face at least once a season, but it seems to clash with the already confirmed storyline of Din’s journey to redeem himself and be accepted back into his strict Mandalorian tribe. The followers of “The Way,” including The Armorer, consider it a transgression for a Mandalorian to take off their helmet. Bo-Katan’s group, however, has a different viewpoint and does not wear a helmet. It is possible that Din Djarin may alter his perspectives during season 3 and potentially even establish his own sect, considering he holds the Darksaber. Nevertheless, it would take a significant event for Djarin to make the decision to remove his helmet. Marketing for the third season of The Mandalorian is underway prior to its premiere on Disney+ on March 1st. Although it’s possible that Empire Magazine’s cover was created to capitalize on Pedro Pascal’s fame, the image appears intentional in creating discussion. Fans won’t have to wait long to find out, as the third season of The Mandalorian is set to start soon. How excited are you for Season 3 of The Mandalorian? Let us know in the comment section below. Given the hiccups that occurred when the feature was first announced, it’s exciting just to hear that Star Trek 4 is still in the works at ParamountShakman told the media about a cost-effective approach for the next Star Trek movie, suggesting that it should be made with a budget of $30 to $50 million and focus on hard science fiction that appeals directly to fans. The director acknowledged that creating space-based scenes can be costly, even if the movie takes place primarily in one location, such as the Enterprise. He believes that making a movie that’s both affordable and appealing to fans is the way forward for the franchise. Shakman went on to share that the Star Trek movie he was working on would still have been a big, blockbuster film, largely due to the extensive and well-known cast, which includes actors such as Chris Pine, Zoe Saldaña, Zachary Quinto, Karl Urban, Simon Pegg, and John Cho. He expressed admiration for J.J. Abrams’ ability to attract a wider audience to the franchise with the scope of his films and added that he hoped to bring a similar level of excitement and energy to the next movie. Matt Shakman said “I think that one of the things that JJ [Abrams] has done so well is that, he’ll be the first to admit, he didn’t grow up being a giant Star Trek fan even though he’s a fan now. But he was a huge Star Wars fan. So I think in rebooting it with Chris Pine and Zoe [Saldaña] and Zach [Quinto], he brought a little bit of Star Wars to it, which I think helped expand its audience, in terms of the scope and the scale of it and the energy of it. I think that that certainly is the goal is to find more and more of an audience for Star Trek. But I am, like you, a huge fan of that, and it was a real shame that I couldn’t make the timing work on that.” Why does star trek cost so much?Star Trek movies are known for their high-quality production values and special effects, which require a significant investment of resources to achieve. The creation of believable and immersive worlds is a crucial aspect of the franchise, and this is achieved through the use of cutting-edge visual effects and other technological advancements. The visual effects themselves require a team of skilled professionals, from concept artists and animators to special effects technicians and engineers, all of whom need to be compensated for their work. In addition to visual effects, Star Trek movies also feature a cast of well-known actors and actresses, which can add significantly to the budget. These actors command high salaries for their work, as their presence helps to attract audiences and bring in revenue for the film. The production values of Star Trek movies are also very high, with elaborate sets, intricate costumes, and top-of-the-line equipment used to create the world of the franchise. The cost of these elements, along with the cost of lighting, sound, and other technical aspects, can be substantial. Star Trek movies also have a global appeal, with a large and dedicated fanbase that spans multiple generations and countries. In order to meet the expectations of this fanbase, the films need to be made to a high standard, with a level of quality that will keep fans engaged and interested. Finally, post-production costs can be a significant factor in the overall budget of a Star Trek movie. These costs include editing, sound design, and visual effects, all of which can add up quickly and contribute to the high cost of producing a film. The combination of high-quality visual effects, star-studded casts, high production values, global appeal, and post-production costs all contribute to the high budget of Star Trek movies. These investments are necessary to ensure that the films are made to a high standard and that fans are satisfied with the end result. It looks like Star Trek 4 is still in the works, so keep an eye on All TV Actors for further updates on the Kelvin-timeline movie. In the meantime, let us know what you think in the comment section.

Many fans are disappointed that Miller may not continue with the Mad Max universe, but they are also feeling regretful about the fact that his planned Justice League movie never came to fruition. Miller had already assembled an impressive cast, with Armie Hammer as Batman and Adam Brody as The Flash, but the movie was halted due to the 2008 writers’ strike. Now that the movie will never be made, fans can only imagine how amazing it could have been and feel a sense of loss for what could have been. Iron man 4Robert Downey Jr. is synonymous with the MCU superhero characters, especially Tony Stark. Despite the actor’s strong connection to the character, the sequels to the original “Iron Man” movie did not live up to the high expectations of fans, despite their financial success, with the third movie making over a billion dollars. This has not come as a surprise that another solo Marvel movie featuring RDJ has not yet been released. The lack of a fourth “Iron Man” movie could have been due to a less impactful script. Fans would have loved to see the return of Stark to the big screen and for the movie to match the greatness of the original. Despite this, fans still hold out hope for an “Iron Man 4” and there are numerous fan-made trailers on YouTube to keep their dreams alive. Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 4The first three “Spider-Man” films were huge commercial successes, grossing nearly $1 billion each, which was a remarkable feat for tentpole films a decade ago. Director Sam Raimi had seemingly found the secret to creating blockbuster superhero movies, so when Sony hired him back to direct the fourth installment, fans were excited. However, the studio’s pressure to quickly produce a film, regardless of its quality, was too much for Raimi. He told Rolling Stone that he wanted to end his time with “Spider-Man” on a high note and didn’t feel confident he could deliver a script that lived up to his standards by the proposed start date. Raimi ultimately decided to step away from the project to protect his vision and legacy. The Revenge of the Nerds rebootIn 2006, a new attempt was made to reboot the franchise. Fox Atomic had already started filming two weeks when the shooting location, Emory University, suddenly withdrew its support. The university claimed that the “raunchy nature” of the film was the reason for this decision. This setback was a major disappointment for the filmmakers, as they had been eager to bring the franchise back to life. Over the years, the franchise has been dormant, except for the loosely related TBS reality show “King of the Nerds.” Recently, Seth McFarlane has expressed his own interest in relaunching the franchise, as reported by Variety, but as of yet, nothing has come to fruition. it’s always disappointing to hear about movies that never saw the light of day. Whether it was due to creative differences, budget constraints, or other reasons, these canceled projects left us longing for what could have been. From Quentin Tarantino’s take on Star Trek to George Miller’s Justice League, and from Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man 4 to Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 4, these movies had the potential to be true masterpieces. As fans, it’s natural to imagine the excitement, thrills, and emotions that these movies could have brought us. But, alas, all we have now are our dreams and the memories of what could have been. <p>The post 5 canceled movies we want to see first appeared on All TV Actors.</p> Via https://alltvactors.com/5-canceled-movies-we-want-to-see/ |
